Yorkshire law firm Gordons strengthens commercial team with new solictor appointments

Yorkshire law firm Gordons has enhanced its commercial team by appointing solicitors Matthew Martin and Charlie Hope to specialise in commercial contract work.

Matthew and Charlie have joined Gordons immediately after qualifying, having completed two-year training contracts with other Leeds law firms, Walker Morris and Cobbetts respectively.

They both have considerable experience on a broad range of matters, including agency and distribution agreements, terms and conditions of supply, e-commerce and data protection. In addition, Matthew has advised on cases concerning outsourcing, intellectual property and regulation while Charlie has undertaken privacy policy, licensing and commercial due diligence work, among other types.

The pair have operated successfully in the IT and retail sectors, with Matthew also having significant experience in the medical and gaming industries and Charlie’s background including extensive involvement in manufacturing and hotels and leisure.

Welcoming them to the firm, corporate partner Peter Barton said: “Matthew and Charlie are dynamic and ambitious individuals that are keen to make their mark at the firm and get involved in the commercial team’s ongoing growth.

“We specifically focused on increasing our commercial contracts work so their appointment is a direct result of our expansion in that area. Matthew and Charlie will help us keep up the momentum we have achieved and enable us to secure further commercial contracts instructions for the firm.”
