Gordons is delighted to invite you to our annual construction seminar entitled 'The World Cup - will the stadium be ready in time...?' a case study on construction procurement.
Case study
England is hosting the 2018 World Cup. The excitement around the world is at "fever pitch". The football World Cup tournament will begin shortly. But there is concern that the fabulous new stadium will not be ready in time for the opening ceremony. The project has been beset by a catalogue of problems. There has been trouble with the neighbouring land owner, contamination in the ground, heavy snow, worries about the design strength of the terraces, and a fatality on site. But ultimately whose head will be on the block if the job is not finished in time? And what will their liability amount to? Will the contractor "escape to victory"?
The case study will include a video highlighting critical issues arising out of a large construction project. We will explore the legal and commercial risks, the implications and consequences, strategic options and practical solutions.
Who should attend?
The seminar will be of interest to: developers, contractors and sub-contractors, professional consultants, funders and property agents.
