Rockscape Energy – AD plant project
The team at Gordons was instructed to advise on the procurement of an AD (‘anaerobic digestion’) plant for Rockscape Energy who needed strategic advice as to whether to use a “turnkey” approach to the design, supply, installation and commissioning of the whole facility, or to retain direct control of each element of the overall procurement.
We helped Rockscape Energy to analyse and assess the pros and cons of each approach, and the risks they needed to manage. This meant that they embarked on the project with a clear strategy, knowing that each legal or commercial risk had been allocated to the party best able to manage and control it.
An additional benefit was that no party within the project structure had to “premium price” any risk which they were not best placed to handle. Consequently this helped the client to keep the tender prices within budget.
