Reed Boardall – Relationships matter

Commenting on Gordons, Keith Boardall, Group Managing Director, Reed Boardall said: “Gordons understand our culture and know the detail of what we do.  They provide sound, well co-ordinated advice across the board, not just from their senior people.  In our experience, not many advisors achieve that balance of versatility and service.”

Gordons have acted for Reed Boardall, one of the largest temperature controlled food distribution businesses in the UK, since 1995.  We have supported them in giving advice on the following issues:

  • Supporting Reed Boardall’s human resources function in providing advice on a wide range of employment matters.  Including providing training in-house on employment policies and procedures.  Reviewing employment documentation, including the company handbook
  • Constant review and reappraisal of the group’s terms of trading, including conditions under which goods are stored and advice in relation to the group’s relationship with customers undergoing insolvency procedures where the preservation of the group’s security over goods in custody needs to be preserved.  To support the group’s credit control advice in relation to guarantees to be required from parent groups of customers
  • Formation of new subsidiary companies to exploit new product and service concepts
  • Full range of property advice in relation to the group’s property portfolio, including planning and site acquisition
  • Advice in relation to the group pension scheme
  • Advice on and documenting reorganisation of the group’s corporate structure
  • Support and advice in relation to the relationship between the group and its shareholders
  • Negotiation and amendment of main trading contracts between the group and its customers and suppliers
  • Advice on a wide range of regulatory law, including Working Time Regulations
