Yorkshire-based home delivery courier Hermes Parcelnet has been advised by law firm Gordons on the acquisition of four new distribution centres across the UK.

Hermes Parcelnet has experienced considerable growth over the past 12 months, leading to the acquisition of the four new depots. These comprise a 3.5 acre site and 54,724 sq ft facility on Dealburn Road, Bradford, a 100,000 sq ft northern distribution hub in Warrington, Cheshire, a 35,600 sq ft depot in Rotherham, South Yorkshire and a 45,000 sq ft depot in Crawley, West Sussex.

Hermes Parcelnet was advised on the deal by Gordons’ commercial property team, which was led by partner Paul Young. The team dealt with the acquisition of each site from a number of different land owners by long lease agreement.

Commenting on the acquisition, Hermes Parcelnet’s estates manager, Adam Leach, said: “Gordons provided an excellent, efficient service from the outset and ensured that the deals ran smoothly from start to finish.

“They delivered a quick turnaround and we’re delighted with the outcome as it forms a key part of our on-going strategic expansion programme.”

The new facilities provide Hermes Parcelnet with the ability to provide enhanced services for its existing and future customer base across the UK, whilst also enabling them to handle high volumes during the forthcoming peak period.

Gordons’ Paul Young said: “Hermes Parcelnet is a genuine success story with the business growing substantially in the last year. These latest acquisitions will underpin its continued growth.

“It was a pleasure working with Adam and his team in order to secure the acquisitions and we’re very pleased with the terms that we agreed on their behalf.”
