A sole trader and proprietor of twelve operating public houses, turning over £2m, was made bankrupt due to a mistake made by her accountant. The Official Receiver told her that she should not be trading any longer.
It was essential for the pubs to trade, otherwise any good will and turnover value would be lost, and nearly 120 employee would be made redundant. In addition to the devastating effect on those employees, each day that her business was closed, considerable value was being lost. We were able to annul the bankruptcy order and get the pubs open and running within four days.
